1.- BEST WINE BOOK

This year the best wine books all come from wine producing countries, with 7 from Europe and 2 from America, North and South. One book has already won two Best in the World Awards, The Wine Report 2003 and 2004, with Tom Stevenson. Kevin Zraly also received a Best in the World Award Year 2000 for Windows on the World Wine Course.

Two books are wine literature: The French Dictionnaire Amoureux du Vin by television star Bernard Pivot, and the Spanish Calice of Letters, published by Dinastia Vivanco, in Rioja.

The winneries are now healthier economically in Argentina, with a good production of wine books. The exports of Argentinian wines are strong, supported by the English editions of their wine books.

2.- FRENCH – FRANCE

Dictionnaire Amoureux du Vin

Bernard Pivot in France is as famous as Oprah Winfrey in the US, recommending books that become bestsellers. He is from the Beaujolais wine region, and loves wines as much as books: he writes about his love for wines in this dictionnary.

Dinastia Vivanco has established a beautiful wine museum in Rioja, with publishing and library activities. This book tells the history of wine in literature.

LArt del Vi a Catalunya

 There is much good wine in Catalunya beyond the world famous Cava.

 The Girona newspaper published this beautiful book.

5.- SWEDEN

It won Best Book of the Year in the Swedish Cookbook Awards, ahead of all other cookbooks and wine books. The author is the editor of the leading wine magazine of Sweden Vin and Mat.

Swedens most acknowledged wine writer Bengt-Göran has been working more than thirteen years on this magnificent book.

Wine professionals wine who do not read this every year do not really know what is happening in the world of wine. It is clear, simple, complete and fun and cheap!

8.- USA

Windows on the World – Complete Wine Course – 2007 Edition

This yearly wine course is obviously written for the US, but it is international in its approach and comments. Any exporter who wants to sell in the US should read it, as well as Sommeliers worldwide. Windows on the World was the restaurant at the top of the Twin Towers destroyed on 9-11. The book had received our Best in the World in 2000.
